AHA Virtual Town Hall: A Conversation about Racial and Ethnic Inequities in Pediatric Cardiac Arrest
This event is being held in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, Citizen CPR Foundation and Parent Heart Watch. Martha Lopez-Anderson, the Executive Director of Parent Heart Watch, will deliver remarks to begin the program. The event will feature the following speakers:
• Joseph L. Wright, MD, MPH, serves on the American Academy of Pediatrics Board of Directors. He is the Inaugural Chief Health Equity Officer at the University of Maryland Medical System and serves as the Professor of Health Policy and Management at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor of Emergency Medicine and Health Policy at the George Washington University.

• Maryam Y. Naim, MD, MSCE, is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Critical Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine, She serves as a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist who is also the Associate Chief of the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

• Cody Gathers, MD, serves as a Pediatric Critical Care Fellow at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He also is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program, through which he is obtaining his Master of Science in Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

The presenters will participate in a live panel discussion that is moderated by Stuart Berger, MD, who is the president of the Citizen CPR Foundation.
